Gold price today July 6: Why does gold increase but buyers still lose?

Domestic gold prices increased after a week but buyers still suffered losses, making the trading market gloomy.

Similarly, 4-number 9 gold rings at SJC Company were bought for 114.3 million VND and sold for 116.8 million VND, an increase of 1.1 million VND after one week. Because the increase of gold rings was lower than that of gold bars while the difference between buying and selling prices was higher, buyers still lost 1.4 million VND/tael after one week. At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company alone, gold rings were bought for 115.7 million VND and sold for 118.7 million VND, an increase of 1.6 million VND compared to the end of last week, and buyers also lost 1.4 million VND/tael due to the difference between buying and selling prices of up to 3 million VND.

The world gold price increased by more than 63 USD after a week, reaching 3,335.93 USD/ounce. The precious metal increased this week due to the weakening of the USD and the flow of money into safe-haven assets in the context of the approaching deadline for US President Donald Trump's tariff agreements.

However, analysts had mixed forecasts for gold's direction last week. In a Kitco News survey of 14 analysts, five, or 36%, said gold would rise, while five said it would stay flat. The remaining four, or 28%, said gold would turn lower.

Individual investors still predict that gold will increase again. The results of an online survey with 243 individual investors participating showed that 143 people, equivalent to 59%, predicted that gold prices would increase. On the contrary, 49 people, equivalent to 20%, predicted that gold would decrease and the remaining 51 investors, equivalent to 21%, thought that gold would go sideways./.
