At nearly 9:00 a.m., Saigon Jewelry Company listed the price of SJC gold bars at VND78.3 million/tael (buy) - VND80.3 million/tael (sell), an increase of VND300,000/tael for buying and unchanged for selling compared to the end of last week.
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited set the price at 78.15 million VND/tael (buy) - 79.95 million VND/tael (sell), 150,000 VND/tael (buy) and 100,000 VND/tael (sell) higher than last weekend.
The price of gold rings increased by 200,000-240,000 VND/tael each way, trading at 68-68.28 million VND/tael (buy) and 69.2-69.48 million VND/tael (sell).
On the international market, also at the same time, the gold price increased by more than 11 USD/ounce, trading at 2,176.7 USD/ounce, converted to be about 14.7 million VND/tael lower than the price of SJC gold bars.
According to the results of the Kitco survey on gold prices this week with the participation of 15 experts, 6 people predicted that prices will increase, while 4 people saw prices decrease, 5 people thought prices will be stable. The online survey with the participation of 170 people showed that 69% had the opinion that prices will increase, 15% thought prices will decrease, the rest thought prices will be stable.
In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate of VND to USD, applied for March 25, is 1 USD = 24,015 VND, an increase of 12 VND compared to the end of last week.
At commercial banks, Vietcombank listed at 24,570 VND/USD (buy) - 24,940 VND/USD (sell), down 10 VND/USD compared to the end of last week.
Meanwhile, BIDV increased by 5 VND per USD, to 24,625 VND (buy) - 24,935 VND (sell). ACB kept the same level of 24,580 VND (buy) - 24,980 VND (sell) per USD.
