Cable car ticket prices to Cat Ba reduced by 50% after ferry flooding incident

On May 27, a representative of Cat Ba Sun Company Limited said that the company has decided to reduce the price of the cable car across the sea to Cat Ba by 50% to support people and tourists to Cat Ba conveniently, safely and have a good experience when traveling . The decision was made right after the ferry incident at Dong Bai wharf on May 26.

Accordingly, from now until August 31, people and tourists traveling to Cat Ba by cable car only have to pay a fee of 50,000 VND/way, a 50% reduction compared to before. Children under 1 meter tall are free. For tourists carrying large luggage (60 cm long x 30 cm wide x 80 cm high or equivalent to 30 kg), the transportation cost is only calculated equivalent to the cable car ticket price of 50,000 VND/way.

Traveling by cable car to Cat Ba is considered more convenient.

After getting off the cable car, visitors will take a shuttle bus or taxi to get to the center of Cat Ba Island. Many people think that traveling by cable car to Cat Ba is more convenient, without having to wait for hours to get on the ferry.

The Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car route has a total investment of more than 2,200 billion VND, is nearly 4 km long and has a capacity of 4,500 passengers per hour. This system has been in operation since June 2020. It only takes visitors 9 minutes to move to Phu Long station, instead of having to travel about 30 minutes by ferry.
