Train ticket prices for Tet Binh Ngo increased by 5-10%

From September 23, the Railway industry officially opened ticket sales for the 2026 Lunar New Year, with prices increasing by 5-10% compared to last year, the highest being the Saigon - Hanoi route at over 3.7 million VND.

Train tickets for the 2026 Lunar New Year are available for purchase directly at the station, ticket offices or online. Each passenger can buy up to 10 tickets for the outbound journey and 10 tickets for the return journey. For group passengers, the railway industry has received registration lists from units from September 15 to 19.

According to the railway industry, this year's Tet ticket prices have increased due to the introduction of 150 new carriages. The highest price is 3.75 million VND for a soft sleeper on the first floor (4-bed compartment) on the Saigon - Hanoi route during peak season. The VIP compartment, priced at 7.35 million VND per bed, is for customers who want private space. However, customers still enjoy many preferential policies such as: buying long-distance tickets gets a 5-15% discount, group tickets get a 2-12% discount, round-trip tickets get a 5% discount, students get a 10-20% discount, the elderly and children apply the current policy.
