Accordingly, from 3:00 p.m. on August 21, the maximum retail price for petroleum products will be applied as follows: E5RON92 gasoline will not be higher than VND 19,464/liter (an increase of VND 110/liter compared to the current base price), VND 628/liter lower than RON95-III gasoline; RON95-III gasoline will not be higher than VND 20,092/liter (an increase of VND 208/liter compared to the current base price).
In the opposite direction, diesel 0.05S is not higher than 17,905 VND/liter (down 172 VND/liter compared to the current base price); kerosene is not higher than 17,814 VND/liter (down 206 VND/liter compared to the current base price); mazut 180CST 3.5S: not higher than 15,116 VND/kg (down 152 VND/kg compared to the current base price).
Thus, since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 35 adjustments, of which RON 95 gasoline has increased 19 times and decreased 16 times; diesel has increased 16 times, decreased 18 times and remained unchanged once.
The adjustment of retail gasoline prices is decided by key traders and distributors, but cannot be made earlier than 3:00 p.m. on August 21, 2025.
The time to apply the new base price will last until the next announcement period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade . Enterprises will adjust prices in accordance with the provisions of current Decrees and Circulars on the management of petroleum business and the use of the Price Stabilization Fund.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect and monitor the implementation of regulations on ensuring petroleum supply, and strictly handle violations if detected.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world oil market in this management period (from August 14, 2025 to August 20, 2025) is affected by main factors such as: US crude oil inventories decreased more sharply than forecast information; US President and Ukrainian President discussed the roadmap to end the conflict in Ukraine between Russia and Ukraine; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to fluctuate up and down depending on each commodity.
The average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price management period of August 14, 2025 and the management period of August 21, 2025 is: 77.482 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (up 0.452 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.59%); 80.056 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 0.914 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.15%); 82.592 USD/barrel of kerosene (down 1.332 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.59%); 83.576 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (down 1.140 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.35%); 401,068 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (down 6,126 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of 1.50%).
