Textile production at An Hoa Industrial Park

After many times applying for jobs in many places, Nguyen Van Dung, a resident of Huong So ward, whose family is a near-poor household in the city, still could not find a job because the units did not have recruitment needs. In April 2023, after hearing the announcement of the Hue City People's Committee to coordinate with the Industrial Cluster Development Center to organize a "Job Consulting and Introduction Day", Dung brought his application and was consulted and introduced to work at Thien An Phu Textile and Garment Investment Joint Stock Company.

“After the probationary period, I now have a stable job with an income of more than 5 million VND/month, and the employer pays social insurance and health insurance to ensure long-term security, so I feel quite secure,” Dung shared.

To create jobs for children of poor and near-poor households and families with difficult circumstances, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hue City regularly coordinates with enterprises located in the province, such as: VinaTex Textile and Garment Group, located in Phu Da Industrial Park; Vinatex International Joint Stock Company, Thien An Phu Textile and Garment Investment Joint Stock Company... to organize consulting and job introduction for people in Thuan An, Huong So, An Hoa wards; creating job opportunities for more than 150 workers working in Phu Da Industrial Park and An Hoa Industrial Cluster.

Many job fairs organized by Hue City create opportunities for workers to find suitable jobs.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Hue City, since the beginning of the year, through transaction sessions, job fairs as well as cooperation with local enterprises, jobs have been created for more than 2,400 workers, of which 50% are from poor and near-poor households, contributing to helping families reduce economic burdens and access long-term social security policies.

Along with recruitment, the Hue City Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center cooperates with Reach to provide elementary vocational training for disadvantaged youth. Up to now, 2 courses have been recruited and trained with 154 students, including occupations such as bartending (41 students), skin care and nail care (36 students), graphic design (31 students) and culinary arts (46 students).

According to the leader of Hue City People's Committee, in order to implement the GNBV target for the period of 2023-2025, in the coming time, the city will continue to promote propaganda, education, raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society to create a strong change in awareness and action in GNBV; promote the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "mutual love and affection", arouse the will of self-reliance and self-reliance of the poor, proactively rise up to escape poverty, not expect or rely on the help of the State and society.

At the same time, synchronously, promptly and effectively implement poverty reduction policies, programs and projects; integrate and effectively implement resources in implementing national target programs. In particular, continue to mobilize resources from enterprises, unions, organizations, individuals and the whole society to focus on solving the shortage of indicators on housing, health, education, domestic water... to effectively implement poverty reduction work, support poor households to escape poverty sustainably.

Another important task is to strengthen inspection, supervision, urging, and promptly summarize difficulties and obstacles in program implementation to speed up the implementation progress and disburse the entire capital plan assigned in 2023; improve the quality and capacity of the team of cadres and civil servants working on poverty reduction; organize training and experience exchange inside and outside the province for subjects directly participating in the implementation of the program's projects.
