Although Vietnam's livestock industry is achieving positive results, it is also facing difficulties and challenges from climate change and limited resources.
“Industrialization of livestock farming towards organic and environmental protection will be the trend to build a modern, sustainable agriculture and meet the increasing demands of domestic and international markets” – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien emphasized.
To realize the goal of sustainable development of the livestock industry, in October 2020, the Prime Minister approved Decision 1520/QD-TTg on the Livestock Development Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2045.
In particular, the State has set out clear goals and directions to promote the livestock industry to develop in a green, clean and sustainable direction. One of the top priorities is to strengthen international cooperation and technology transfer, in order to access advanced scientific and technological advances in the world.
According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien, Vietnam's livestock industry is facing an important turning point, with opportunities and challenges going hand in hand. To continue to maintain and enhance its position in the international arena, the industry needs the cooperation of all relevant parties.
