On the afternoon of January 26, traffic jams occurred on many roads and streets of Hanoi .
According to Dan Tri reporter's records at Nga Tu So overpass (Dong Da district), at 4:30 p.m., the number of vehicles increased dramatically compared to previous cold days.
In both directions of the road, cars and motorbikes are crowded, making it difficult for people to move around.
On Ring Road 2 towards Nga Tu So, a line of vehicles lined up in the cold weather.
The "packed" traffic made some people choose to go all the way to the motorbike-free Ring Road 2, while others chose to walk.
To handle traffic congestion, officers from Traffic Police Team No. 3 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police) increased traffic flow at the Nga Tu So overpass during rush hour this afternoon.
In Tay Son street area, traffic is crowded during rush hour.
Ms. Nguyen Hong Hanh (Dong Da, Hanoi) said that the closer to Tet, the more crowded the streets of Hanoi become, especially during rush hour.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, representative of Hanoi City Police Traffic Police Department said that the unit has proactively grasped the situation, forecasted the negative impacts of the weather on traffic in the capital on cold and rainy days, and assigned forces to be on duty to regulate traffic, ensuring convenient travel for people.
Previously, during the cold and rainy days, the capital's traffic police force was always on duty during rush hours to ensure smooth traffic.
From early morning, the Traffic Police Department directed the Traffic Police teams under the department to arrange officers to coordinate with ward and district police to be on duty at key intersections and traffic jam hotspots in the capital to organize traffic flow and prevent congestion.
The Traffic Police Department has mobilized maximum forces and means, coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and district and county police to increase patrols and controls to promptly detect and strictly handle violations of traffic order and safety.
