(Dan Tri) - Coach Polking affirmed that winning the 2024-2025 National Cup on the evening of June 29 will open a new chapter for the Hanoi Police Club and his coaching career.

With superior strength, despite having to play at Vinh Stadium, Hanoi Police still had a resounding 5-0 victory over SL Nghe An, winning the 2024-2025 National Cup.

Evaluating the match, Coach Polking of Hanoi Police said: “We know SL Nghe An is a team with a lot of fighting spirit. But today, my players played a perfect match. I am very happy.

Asked if this was the start of a new coaching career, Polking replied: “I hope so. I am now at a club that gives us the best conditions. I hope we can stay together for a long time and win more trophies. Hopefully this will be the start of the next chapter in my career.

I think it was a great season. For the first season, winning a trophy was extremely important. In addition, we reached the final of the ASEAN Club Cup, only losing to Buriram on penalties, and finished third in the V-League to qualify for the Asian Cup next season. For a new team, I think it was a great achievement.”

Coach Polking did not forget to thank his students, he said: “It is all thanks to the players. They believed in my football philosophy, believed in the way we built the game. That is the most beautiful thing for any coach, when seeing his students believe and execute the right tactical ideas.

After winning the National Cup with Hanoi Police, Coach Polking burst into tears. He shared his feelings: “Those were tears of happiness, not tears of sadness. I am really happy because this is an important title for the club, for the players and for me personally. I always live fully in every moment of the match. When you are too happy, sometimes the emotions just burst out.

For now, we will rest a bit. Then, hopefully next season, Hanoi Police can compete for the V-League championship. The whole team is very proud of what we have done this season, but our ambitions are certainly even greater."
