As part of the activity “Introducing Tuong art to schools”, on the morning of March 28, Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater organized an introduction of Tuong art to students of Hoang Hoa Tham High School. On the theater stage, students were able to see Tuong masks and enjoy an excerpt of the play “Hum Thieng Yen The”, written by Le Cong Phuong.
Excerpt from “Hùm Thiêng Yên Thế” tells about the cloth-clothed hero Hoàng Hoa Thám - the leader of the Yên Thế uprising, a strong and resilient patriotic movement against the French for nearly 30 years (1887-1913) in the Bắc Giang - Thái Nguyên - Hưng Hóa region. Hero Hoàng Hoa Thám was originally from Hưng Yên. When the French invaded Bắc Kỳ, he joined the uprising army under the command of Đề Năm (Đế Nậm). When Đề Năm was sacrificed, he continued to fight the French and became the leader of the uprising. Under the leadership of Hoàng Hoa Thám, the Yên Thế uprising army caused many losses to the French army, making the French army fear day and night.
