BHG - These days, amidst the seemingly normal pace of life with the news cycle, I suddenly feel my heart calm down. Not because there is less work or less pressure, but because of something very different: Ha Giang Newspaper - where I am working - is about to no longer exist as an independent newspaper.

The merger with Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station is part of the roadmap to streamline and streamline the local apparatus, and I understand that this is inevitable. But understanding is one thing, feeling is another. Suddenly I feel nostalgic and regretful, as if I am about to say goodbye to a close friend who has been with me for many years. The name “Ha Giang Newspaper” associated with so many memories of youth is about to only remain in memory…

I came to journalism unexpectedly, but not really unexpectedly. Born into a family where both parents were journalists, I never thought I would follow in their footsteps, but wanted to turn in another direction, such as marketing communications, event organization... things that sounded more dynamic and "easier to breathe". But life has its own ways of turning things around. After many years of studying and experiencing in the capital, I returned to things that seemed familiar since childhood: current affairs, recordings, interviews... I returned to Ha Giang Newspaper - the place where I started a journey that, until now, I still feel extremely grateful.

Starting at the Electronic Newspaper Department - which was still new, lacking in staff and equipment - I practiced from the smallest things: Editing photos, editing news, learning how to choose words to be "true to the Party newspaper style". Then the work just kept me going. Gradually, I became a true "multi-talented journalist" - able to write news articles, edit, create clips, design e-magazines, read radio broadcasts, host programs... Ha Giang Newspaper gave me the opportunity to develop more skills than I could have imagined.

Recalling the early days of getting news in the blazing midday sun, the times of reading radio programs on the phone in front of an open wardrobe to get the echo because there was no recording studio. The first news programs only had a “rice-powered studio” and the Head of the Electronic Newspaper at that time, journalist Huy Toan, also held the position of microphone holder. And the late afternoons sitting at the office waiting for news, glued to the screen editing before updating to the homepage…

Until the converged newsroom system was deployed, the electronic newspaper interface changed, the professional recording studio was born, new programs were produced: Talk Ha Giang, Check-in Ha Giang, Reading radio stories... There was more work, more pressure, but also more "space" to express myself. I found myself growing up through each challenge. Most notably, I felt very lucky to have the opportunity to appear in front of the camera - as a news presenter, conducting talk shows, becoming one of the faces representing Ha Giang Newspaper on the digital platform - not only through images, but also through voice. Perhaps, that is also a special honor that journalism gives me. Every time I record or go on air, I am not only reading the introduction, but also speaking the voice of a press agency, carrying the information, viewpoints and passion of an entire collective. That responsibility is not light, but it also makes me appreciate and be more serious about the profession.

Now, as the new turning point approaches, my emotions are mixed. The merger means having to start over in a new environment, getting to know new colleagues, and a new style of journalism. But I believe that if I can keep the passion for my profession alive, I can do my job anywhere - and do it well. I will try to adapt, strive to develop myself, and continue to tell the stories of the people and the land I love.

Ha Giang Newspaper may no longer be the name that appears every morning when I turn on my computer to work. But for me, Ha Giang Newspaper is the starting point, the "cradle", an inseparable part of my journalism journey. And no matter how far I go in the future, I will always be proud to say: "I used to be a Ha Giang Newspaper person".
