Photographer Fulvio Bugani is known as a “visual storyteller”. His solo exhibition “Sicily” consists of 20 selected photographs that encapsulate and depict the essence of Sicily.
Away from the bustling cities, Sicily is the embodiment of a slow, peaceful pace of life, likened to the gentle waves of the Mediterranean. A pace that follows the heat of the rising sun and quietens as the day goes on.
The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily is an autonomous region of Italy with a rich and complex history spanning thousands of years. Sicily has been ruled by many civilizations including the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans and Spanish; each civilization has left an indelible mark on the island’s culture, architecture and cuisine . Today, Sicily remains an alluring tourist destination with idyllic beaches, stunning scenery and a rich cultural heritage.
Through his lens, Fulvio Bugani captures the unique beauty of this island, immersing viewers in the unique stories and emotions that only Sicily can bring.
Fulvio Bugani is an Italian freelance documentary photographer (born 1974), with over 20 years of experience in the field of photography.
