On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the streets of Hanoi are decorated with red flags, billboards, posters, and banners associated with historical images.
Taking advantage of the weekend, many young people went to the walking street to take meaningful photos on the occasion of the big anniversary. Young people also participated in program activities such as exhibitions, art performances, and real-life tours ... held at historical sites in Hanoi's Old Quarter.
Checking in at Hoan Kiem Lake, Ms. Thanh Xuan (Hanoi) said she was very happy and excited to be able to enjoy the cool autumn air. The brilliant scenery, full of flags and flowers, also made her feel the boiling, burning love and pride for her nation...
According to Ms. Xuan, the vivid documentary photos, printed on large posters decorating the streets of Hanoi, help recreate emotional historical moments. Every viewer feels the power of the noble sacrifices of previous generations.
“With billboards, propaganda posters, and many meaningful activities, I think today's young generation can learn a lot from historical values, such as solidarity, patriotism, learning, sharing, and connection...", Ms. Xuan said.
As a young person, Tran Cong Thanh - a student at Thang Long University confided: "I really like the atmosphere of celebrating this holiday. It makes me feel closer to the history and cultural values of the nation, and at the same time arouses the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of people in general and young people like me."
Mr. Cong Thanh also believes that living in peace is a priceless gift and from there realizes the need to cherish what we have and be aware of the responsibility to preserve and continue the good traditions left by our ancestors.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, Hanoi also has a series of exciting cultural and artistic activities.
The programs "Memories of Hanoi - 70 years" at the Phung Hung Street mural space, the program "Cultural Festival for Peace" recreating the army taking over the capital in 1954 at Hoan Kiem Lake, the series of events displaying documents "Hanoi and the Gate", a series of activities at Thang Long Imperial Citadel... made young people extremely excited.
In addition, in Hanoi, there are many other notable activities such as: City Bus "Quintessence of Ao Dai" with the participation of 700 passengers in Ao Dai and 1010 passengers passing through famous tourist destinations in Hanoi on October 4 and October 10; Program "Ao Dai connecting Hanoi Tourism and Heritage in 2024"; "Check in Ha Noi" challenge with Ao Dai; "Ao Dai Dance" challenge - Ao Dai Dance...
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being awarded the title of City for Peace by UNESCO (July 16, 1999 - July 16, 2024), on the morning of October 6, the Hanoi People's Committee organized the Cultural Festival for Peace program in the Hoan Kiem Lake area.
The Cultural Festival for Peace is a meaningful program in honoring the historical value of the Capital Liberation Day, at the same time looking back at 25 years of Hanoi receiving the title of City for Peace by UNESCO, affirming the city's continuous efforts in preserving and promoting cultural and historical values, while building an increasingly civilized, modern, internationally integrated Capital.
