Working overtime to ensure security and order during Tet holiday.
To maintain political security, order, and social safety during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024, police forces in all units and localities throughout the province have launched a high-intensity campaign to combat crime, ensuring that people can celebrate the New Year joyfully, safely, and healthily. Working tirelessly day and night, "staying awake so the people can sleep soundly, guarding so the people can enjoy themselves," police officers in the province are busy "working overtime" to bring a peaceful spring to every home.

Colonel Huynh Tan Hanh, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Police, stated: To maintain security and order, ensure social stability, and absolutely protect the security and safety of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dragon) and other major national and local events, creating a foundation for successfully carrying out tasks in 2024 from the very first months of the year, the Provincial Police have decided to launch a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime and ensure security and order throughout the province, from December 15, 2023 to February 29, 2024. With the spirit of launching a campaign to keep the people safe during the spring festival and Tet holiday, the entire provincial police force is determined to intensify attacks and suppression of all types of crimes and social evils according to specific themes, routes, areas, and fields, preventing criminal activity that causes public outrage.
In response to and with the vigorous implementation of the Tet holiday peak period, the working atmosphere at the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police has become more urgent and bustling. The end of the year is a time when the number of people and vehicles participating in traffic increases dramatically, and the traffic safety situation becomes more complex. In addition, people's Tet shopping needs increase, especially the demand for purchasing cars, motorcycles, and scooters, leading to more related procedures. Therefore, to expedite administrative procedures for the people, the Department has directed and encouraged officers in specialized departments to uphold the spirit and responsibility of "finishing the job, not just working until the end of the hour," striving to process documents and procedures for the people within the prescribed time and as quickly as possible. The traffic patrol and control force has also increased shifts and hours, coordinating closely with other forces to promptly regulate traffic when congestion occurs and minimize traffic accidents in the area.
Captain Nguyen Thi Bich Loan, an officer of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, shared: "Tet (Lunar New Year) is a time when everyone gathers with family and loved ones to celebrate the new year, but for the police force in general, and the traffic police in particular, this is a peak time, concentrating maximum personnel and resources to be ready to perform duties when required. After each shift, not receiving any reports of crime or traffic accidents is the greatest joy and the most meaningful Tet gift for us."
During the Lunar New Year holiday, the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police of the Provincial Public Security Department are always on high alert against fire hazards. This is because it's a time when many families burn incense and votive paper; markets and businesses concentrate large quantities of goods, making them susceptible to fire and explosions. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Khuy, Team Leader of the Firefighting and Rescue Team, shared: "For many years working in the department, I've celebrated Tet (Lunar New Year) with my colleagues at the unit. For the common good, each officer and soldier of the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police always upholds their assigned responsibilities, promoting awareness so that people do not neglect fire prevention and control at home, in businesses, and in areas where festivals celebrating the Party and the New Year are held. We are always ready with equipment and means to respond to unexpected situations, but we only wish to be 'unemployed' so that people can enjoy the New Year safely."
Along with the professional units of the Provincial Police, the police forces of districts, cities, and communes, wards, and towns are also core forces in the task of maintaining local security and order. To ensure that people can celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year fully, the police at all levels have coordinated with departments, agencies, and organizations to effectively maintain the movement of "All citizens participate in protecting national security" and to propagate and mobilize all strata of the population to eradicate social evils; proactively prevent and combat all types of crime and promptly resolve issues arising related to security and order at the grassroots level.

Strictly organizing combat readiness duty before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon 2024 is a task that all units under the Provincial Military Command are focusing on. At each unit, ensuring the entitlements and policies for soldiers during Tet is also a priority for the Provincial Military Command, with the motto "enjoying the spring but not forgetting our duties."

Upon arriving at the Signal Company, we felt the unit's freshness in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year). Several flowerbeds were being tended, awaiting their bloom. Several potted plants were being trimmed by the soldiers, contributing to a more presentable environment and landscape for the coming Tet and spring. Captain Pham Van Linh, Commander of the Signal Company, said: "The unit's unique characteristic is that it both trains for combat readiness and ensures communication for the Provincial Military Command to communicate with superiors and to command and direct units within the provincial armed forces; at the same time, it coordinates with other units stationed in the province in handling situations. In the days before, during, and after Tet, the task of maintaining combat readiness and ensuring smooth, timely, accurate, confidential, and secure communication becomes even more important. In parallel, to ensure the soldiers have a warm and joyful Tet celebration, the unit also organizes many activities to care for them during Tet, such as: organizing the cooking of banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes); They organized cultural and sports activities. The soldiers in the unit often reminded each other to prioritize political tasks, but also created a joyful and meaningful Tet atmosphere for the officers and soldiers, especially for new recruits celebrating Tet in the military for the first time.
Meanwhile, at the Reconnaissance Company, the atmosphere was also vibrant as the officers and soldiers of the various platoons enthusiastically practiced combat readiness plans. Lieutenant To Nguyen Trieu Phong, the Company's Political Officer, stated: "Following the orders of the Commander of the Provincial Military Command and to ensure the people can celebrate Tet peacefully, we have developed a specific combat readiness plan and ensured the required number of personnel on duty. The platoons have intensified their training to master combat plans and are ready to mobilize when ordered. At the same time, the unit regularly pays attention to and cares for the soldiers' morale, especially by coordinating and organizing cultural and sports activities, encouraging officers and soldiers to maintain peace of mind and determination to excellently complete all assigned tasks."
Eagerly awaiting Tet (Lunar New Year) in the military, Private Nguyen Tien Dat, 1st Reconnaissance Platoon, Reconnaissance Company, shared: "Although training and combat readiness duty at the unit are very intense, the atmosphere of Tet is still full of lively and bustling activities characteristic of the army, so I'm very excited. But that doesn't mean we soldiers are neglecting training and guard duty; on the contrary, we must train even harder. I tell myself that I will strive my best to complete the assigned tasks well and celebrate Tet happily and unitedly with my comrades."

Colonel Luu Xuan Phuong, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee and Commander of the Provincial Military Command, stated: To ensure that officers and soldiers enjoy a safe, economical, and highly combat-ready Lunar New Year celebration in 2024, the Provincial Military Command requires Party committees and commanders of agencies and units within the provincial armed forces to ensure that all officers and soldiers clearly define their responsibilities and duties, maintain a high level of awareness in complying with and strictly adhering to combat duty schedules, and seriously practice on-site combat plans, target protection plans, and fire prevention and control plans; while also preparing forces and equipment for readiness to mobilize for combat when situations arise. The Provincial Military Command also directs agencies and units to ensure that officers and soldiers receive all necessary benefits and entitlements during the Tet holiday, so that they can feel more secure in fulfilling their duties, contributing to a joyful, healthy, safe, and happy Lunar New Year celebration for the people.
