The secret lies in new AI models, particularly large language models (LLMs) that are heavily trained on phishing, malware, and spam. These models help Gmail block 20% more spam emails and process over 1,000 times more spam reported by users daily.

In addition to deploying a system to combat phishing spam, Google also shared warnings with users about three common scams during this year's holiday season.

First, there's the scam of sending fake invoices, aiming to trick users into calling to dispute and defraud them of money. Next, there's the impersonation of celebrities or the use of their images for advertising. Finally, users will receive threatening emails from scammers, warning of physical harm or spreading false rumors about them.

To protect themselves, Google advises users to be cautious of suspicious emails, carefully check sender information, not transfer money to strangers, and report phishing emails. Now, with the powerful assistance of AI, Gmail is becoming increasingly secure, giving users peace of mind against the rampant phishing scams occurring in the digital environment.
