The music control feature right on Google Maps for Android has disappeared after the new update, causing inconvenience for users when driving and listening to music at the same time.

Android users recently discovered that the music control button has "evaporated" from Google Maps without any warning from Google. According to reports from tech sites like 9to5Google and Android Police, the “Show media playback controls” and “Default media app” options are also disappearing from the navigation settings section.
This forces users to leave the navigation screen to operate the music app, increasing the risk of losing focus while driving. The music control feature, which was once a simple alternative to Google Assistant's Driving mode, was discontinued in April.
Ironically, this feature still works fine on the iOS version of Google Maps. Many have suggested that the change could be related to the transition to the Gemini AI platform. Google has not made any official announcement about removing this feature on Android.
If this is a permanent change, Google could face a wave of criticism from its loyal user community. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Top 10 'Scary' Technology Devices of the Future.
