On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Don ca tai tu being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, Google has updated a new doodle to honor this art.

Google said that on December 5, 2013, UNESCO recognized Don ca tai tu as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Therefore, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of this event, Google updated the profile picture on the homepage to honor the art of Don ca tai tu - a traditional music genre of Southern Vietnam.
Don ca tai tu is almost always performed in groups. In addition to singers, the Don ca tai tu orchestra also includes artists playing musical instruments such as the zither, the fiddle, the flute, the pipa, etc. The artists constantly compose new songs when they find inspiration, creating a treasure trove of nearly 100 traditional songs, including ancient songs.
Although originating from Hue , the art of Don ca tai tu developed strongly in the provinces and cities in the South.
According to Google, this is the right time to enjoy Don ca tai tu in Vietnam. This art form plays an important part in celebrations, weddings, Lunar New Year, birthdays and any gathering. Don ca tai tu helps connect the community through sharing culture, art, music and will continue for generations to come.
Also according to Google, the art of Don ca tai tu appeared in the late 19th century, originating from rituals and Hue royal court music. Don ca tai tu is often performed in the South of Vietnam, with the harmony between musical instruments creating beautiful melodies.
