Contribute to creating a strong and modern ideological-theoretical media ecosystem

On the morning of June 20, in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

On behalf of the Academy's leadership, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council warmly congratulated, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and important contributions of the press team in the entire Academy system in recent times.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics affirmed that with its position as the leading national center for training and fostering leaders, managers and political theory, the Academy has directly trained tens of thousands of cadres, including a large number of journalists, editors, propaganda and communication cadres from the central to local levels.

From intermediate and advanced political theory classes to specialized training programs, all have equipped the team of journalists not only with theoretical knowledge, but first of all with solid political will and revolutionary ethics.

The Academy has an affiliated unit which is the cradle of revolutionary journalism training - the Academy of Journalism and Communication. Over the past 63 years, the Academy has affirmed its position as a Party school, a key national university in journalism, communication and political theory.

With more than 100,000 students trained through generations, the school has provided key human resources for revolutionary journalism and the Party's propaganda work.

In particular, the school not only teaches journalism, but more importantly trains revolutionary journalists. The teaching staff includes many experienced journalists, theorists, and teachers who have helped form a generation of journalists imbued with Ho Chi Minh's ideology, dedicated to ideals, loyal to the Party, and attached to the people.

Many former students and trainees of the school are now leaders of major press agencies, Editors-in-Chief, Heads of Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Departments, Directors of media centers of localities, ministries, branches, socio-political organizations; many have won the National Press Award, the Literary and Artistic Criticism Award, the National Television Award, etc.

The Academy has a unique academic press-publishing system with its own mark. With 17 specialized journals and a major publishing house, the Academy's press creates a theoretical communication network with depth and identity, directly serving the Party's political-ideological tasks.

Each year, the Academy's journals publish more than 2,800 articles, publish thousands of studies, summarize practices, and criticize policies, contributing to providing scientific arguments for the Party and State in formulating policies and development strategies.

During the 100 years of development of Vietnam's revolutionary press, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, as the "theoretical headquarters" of the Party, has been carrying out a silent but profound mission: training people, developing ideology, and creating a spiritual foundation for revolutionary press. It is a contribution not only through publications and articles, but also through people with ideals, convincing arguments, and spreading theoretical thinking - core values that create ideological depth and political mettle for Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century and in the following stages of development.

In the context of profound changes at home and abroad, the world is rapidly moving into the digital age and knowledge economy; hostile forces are increasing distortions and sabotage in cyberspace; the regional and world situations are changing unpredictably; our country is facing the requirement of breakthroughs in development thinking and institutional perfection in the spirit of the Central Resolutions and preparations for the 14th Congress, the requirements for the Academy's press are increasingly high, requiring stronger and more proactive innovation, and deeper attachment to the political tasks of the Party, the Academy and the country.

Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that the Academy's press system, journalism lecturers, and journalists in the entire Academy system continue to maintain the political, scientific, theoretical, and combative nature of the Academy's press; closely follow and directly serve the three strategic pillars of the Academy; promote digital transformation in the Academy's press; and improve the quality of the Academy's press team. This team must truly be intellectual theorists, ideological warriors with bright minds and vision, capable of discovering, interpreting, and accompanying the cause of innovation of the Party and the country.

For journalism lecturers, it is necessary to be both good at theory and profound in practice, and to do well in the tasks of teaching-research-writing-building a pure political and ideological environment in the training institution.

In particular, strengthen academic and journalistic links inside and outside the Academy, promote international integration; promote cooperation between Academy journals with central press, local press, research institutes, provincial and municipal political schools to create a strong, broad, deep, and modern "ideological-theoretical media ecosystem".

"Let's do journalism with the spirit of a Party cadre; teach journalism with the temperament of an ideological soldier; study journalism with the intelligence of a theorist so that each written page, each publication, each journalism class in the Academy is a vivid expression of loyalty to the Party, to the people, to the revolutionary cause," Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized./.
