Professor Vu Van Yem becomes Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just had a new Vice President, Professor Vu Van Yem. Before being appointed to this position, he was Head of the University's Organization and Personnel Department.

On May 6, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the decision to appoint Professor Vu Van Yem as Deputy Director.

Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang, Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that from the end of 2024, the project "Developing Hanoi University of Science and Technology into the group of leading highereducation institutions in Asia" will be developed and submitted to competent authorities for approval. The school sees that it is necessary to add more Vice Presidents according to the project's development roadmap.

Professor Vu Van Yem was appointed with the task of attracting and developing talent, internationalization - promoting the use of English, university rankings and implementing the Hanoi University of Science and Technology branch in Hung Yen .

Mr. Yem said that one of the four orientations that will be implemented immediately upon taking office is to improve university rankings. However, Hanoi University of Science and Technology does not pursue rankings in a formal way but considers this as a driving force to promote governance reform, improve the quality of training, research, internationalization, and take advantage of rankings to enhance its influence domestically, regionally and internationally.

Professor Vu Van Yem (born in 1975) successfully defended his doctoral thesis in 2005 at the National University of Telecommunications (France); was appointed Associate Professor in 2009, Professor in 2019.

Before being appointed as Deputy Director, Prof. Vu Van Yem was Head of the University Organization and Personnel Department. He previously held the position of Head of General Administration Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Thus, Hanoi University of Science and Technology currently has a Director and 4 Vice Directors of the University.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the score distribution of the Thinking Assessment exam in 2025. On May 6, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the score distribution of the third round of Thinking Assessment exam and the score distribution of all rounds in 2025.
