Techcombank has reduced interest rates for the third time since the beginning of September, for fixed terms from 1 to 11 months. Accordingly, the online mobilization interest rate table for newly opened savings accounts under 1 billion VND, Techcombank reduced the interest rate by 0.2 percentage points for 1-2 month term deposits to 3.65%/year, and 3-5 month term deposits to 4.05%/year.
For 6-8 month and 9-11 month term deposits, Techcombank reduced interest rates by 0.1 percentage point, to 5.25% and 5.3%/year, respectively.
Meanwhile, interest rates for deposits with terms of 12 months or more remain unchanged at 5.55% per year.
Techcombank adds an interest rate of 0.05%/year for terms from 6 to 36 months for newly opened savings deposits from 1 billion VND to less than 3 billion VND. The same interest rate is also applied to deposits from 3 billion VND or more.
Also today, National Citizen Bank (NCB) announced its second interest rate cut since the beginning of September. According to the online deposit interest rate table just announced, NCB reduced 0.3 percentage points of deposit interest rates for terms from 6 to 36 months.
Specifically, the interest rate for 6-8 month term deposits decreased to 6.3%/year, 9-11 month term deposits to 6.35%/year, and 12-36 month term deposits to 6.4%/year.
0.3 percentage points is also the interest rate reduction at HDBank today. This bank has reduced deposit interest rates for terms from 6 to 36 months. This is the first time this month that HDBank has reduced deposit interest rates.
Notably, after this downward adjustment, HDBank has officially stopped maintaining the 7% interest rate for 13-month term deposits. Currently, only Dong A Bank maintains the highest interest rate of up to 7.1%/year for this term deposit.
After adjustment, the interest rate for 1-5 month term remains at the ceiling of 4.75%/year, 6-month term at 6.3%/year, 7-11 month and 15 month terms at 6.4%/year, 12 and 18 month terms at 6.5%/year, 13 month term at 6.7%/year, and 24-36 month term at 6.3%/year.
According to statistics, from the beginning of September until now, 30 banks have reduced interest rates including: Eximbank, BacA Bank, PG Bank, Saigonbank, MB, OCB, Sacombank, SHB , GPBank, Techcombank, ACB, Nam A Bank, KienLongBank, TPBank, CBBank, MSB, Viet A Bank., BaoVietBank, PVCombank, Agribank, NCB, BVBank, Vietcombank, BIDV, SeABank, Dong A Bank, ABBank, OceanBank, VietinBank, HDBank.
Of which, Viet A Bank, MB, ACB, Techconbank, Eximbank, Nam A Bank, MSB, NCB, and GPBank have reduced interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.
OCB and Techcombank alone have reduced interest rates three times since the beginning of September.
