Since 5am on October 7, many schools in Hanoi have simultaneously issued notices to students to temporarily stop going to school and switch to online learning. The change of status is being carried out urgently and flexibly, based on the weather and actual traffic conditions in the area. In addition to maintaining the online teaching routine, schools in Hanoi are also urgently reviewing and clearing away equipment and teaching materials and focusing on overcoming the consequences of prolonged heavy rain.
At Chu Van An Secondary School, Thanh Liet Ward (Hanoi), the notice was sent to parents by homeroom teachers at 5:50 a.m. Accordingly, the school requested all students to switch to online learning in the morning according to the schedule instead of studying in person as announced on the evening of October 6.

Phu Luong 2 Primary School (Hanoi) also announced that students would be off school and switch to online learning as the streets leading to the school were flooded and motorbikes could not move.
Many other schools in the area also announced that they will continue to maintain online learning on October 7 to ensure student safety.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, as of the afternoon of October 7, Hanoi recorded 30 schools with flooded schoolyards and classrooms due to the impact of storm No. 11.
Faced with complicated developments due to heavy rain, leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training directly inspected the organization of teaching and learning and deployed response plans to storm No. 11 at a number of schools in the city.
At schools such as Ly Thuong Kiet Primary School, Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam ward, Phan Huy Chu High School, Dong Da ward, Trung Hoa Kindergarten, Yen Hoa ward, leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training acknowledged the proactiveness and flexibility of schools in changing teaching and learning status and ensuring safety for students.

At Phan Huy Chu High School, Dong Da Ward, online classes were conducted seriously and effectively. Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong attended the online class and talked with students, encouraging them to maintain a positive and serious learning spirit and ensure safety in the complicated weather conditions.
At Trung Hoa Kindergarten, Yen Hoa Ward, some classrooms, offices and kitchen areas were affected by flooding. The school urgently relocated and raised equipment, utensils and toys to limit damage. The leaders of the Department of Education and Training reminded the school to continue to check, clear water flows, and thoroughly clean the environment after the water recedes to be ready to welcome children back to school; maintain on-duty forces, closely monitor the weather to adjust teaching plans, and prepare support plans for students and teachers when necessary.
