The terrifying zombies from "The Walking Dead," which have haunted millions of viewers worldwide for nearly 15 years, will now "come back to life" in a completely different way: through an online auction of over 1,000 legendary props associated with this iconic television franchise.

Organized by AMC Networks in collaboration with Heritage Auctions, the auction, which runs until November 1st, features iconic items spanning from the first season in 2010 to the final season in 2022, along with spin-off series continuing the " The Walking Dead" universe.

Greg Nicotero, the visual effects supervisor, executive producer, and director of the television series, said the auction was not just an opportunity to own an artifact, but also a journey back to the golden age of the franchise when “The Walking Dead” changed the way the world produced television shows.

Among the notable items are Glenn Rhee's (Steven Yeun) guitar, with a starting bid of $1,000; Carol Peletier's (Melissa McBride) pickaxe from the first season; a set of five used zombie masks; and, most notably, the 1971 Pontiac Tempest, which appeared in the opening episode, with a starting bid of $25,000.

Some other items start at just $500, opening up opportunities for fans to collect them.

Nicotero shared: “It’s hard to resist the flood of memories when looking at the auction catalog. These items make iconic moments feel more real. They’re not just images on a screen; they’re something you can touch and hold.”

Released on Halloween 2010, “The Walking Dead” redefined the zombie genre by exploring the emotional depth of human beings in a post-apocalyptic world.

Although the original series has ended, this universe continues to expand with projects such as “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” (season 3 is currently airing) and “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” – where the characters Rick Grimes and Michonne reunite, released last year.
