The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District ( Hanoi City) has just sent a document to the Hanoi Department of Construction regarding the organization of preserving wood and firewood of 3 dead Dalbergia tomentosa trees in the Hoan Kiem Lake area.
Specifically, according to this document, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District said that on April 6, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter presided over and coordinated with relevant departments of Hoan Kiem District, the Hanoi City Technical Infrastructure Management Center, and Hanoi Green Parks and Trees Company Limited to conduct a survey and develop a plan to handle dead trees in Hoan Kiem Lake Garden.
Survey results show that in Hoan Kiem Lake garden, there are 5 dead trees, including 3 Dalbergia tonkinensis trees, 1 Lagerstroemia tree and 1 Cassia tonkinensis tree.
Specifically, opposite the Lo Su - Dinh Tien Hoang intersection, there is a dead rosewood tree, 59cm in diameter, 10 - 12 meters high.
Opposite number 31 Dinh Tien Hoang, there is a dead Lagerstroemia tree, 26cm in diameter, 8 - 10 meters high.
Opposite the intersection of Hang Trong - Le Thai To, there is a dead muong tree, 19 cm in diameter, 5 - 6 meters high.
Near the Swiss flower clock, close to the edge of the lake, there are 2 dead Dalbergia tonkinensis trees. 1 tree has a diameter of 40 cm, height of 5 - 6 meters and 1 tree has a diameter of 35 cm, height of 8 - 10 meters.

The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District said that on April 7, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter sent a document to the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District for consideration and permission for the unit to organize the cutting down of the above dead trees to ensure the safety of people and tourists when visiting Hoan Kiem Lake, as well as ensure the urban beauty in the Hoan Kiem Lake area.
It is expected that the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter will cut down 3 dead Dalbergia tonkinensis trees on April 18.
“The People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District requests the Hanoi Department of Construction to organize the preservation of wood and firewood of the three dead rosewood trees mentioned above after the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter and related units have completed the felling in accordance with the provisions of law ,” the document of Hoan Kiem District stated .
