Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of May 7, Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Deputy Head of the Food Safety and Hygiene Department, Hanoi Department of Health - said that in a meeting with the Steering Committee of Cau Giay District on the occasion of the Food Safety and Hygiene Action Month, the city's Department of Health requested the People's Committee of Cau Giay District to inspect and trace the origin of the goods of the restaurant in Cau Giay District, where the 40m-long dish of pork intestines was introduced.

Mr. Trung said that in recent days, public opinion has been abuzz about the origin of the pipe intestines. Meanwhile, a restaurant in Cau Giay district shared a clip of a 40m long pipe intestine, making people skeptical about the origin of the food.

The Department of Health has requested the People's Committee of Cau Giay District to verify and trace the origin of food from the above facility.

"This facility is a private business household, so the authority belongs to Cau Giay district. Currently, the district People's Committee is taking steps to trace the origin of food according to regulations. After the inspection results are available, the department will continue to provide information to the people," said Mr. Trung.

Previously, social media was abuzz with a clip showing off a 40m-long pork intestine dish shared by a TikToker account. According to the introduction, the owner of this establishment owns a chain of restaurants specializing in pork intestines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety recently announced that it has conducted simultaneous inspections of many establishments advertising cigarette cores.

Dr. Phan Thi Hong Phuc - Vice Principal of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry - said that from a professional perspective, pigs with tobacco intestines are very rare.

From the controversy on social networks about the origin and quality of the intestines, Dr. Phuc recommends that when buying intestines, people should research and buy from reputable places with clear origins, and should choose to buy from companies and units with reputable brands and traceability codes. Products of unknown origin should not be used.
