Hanoi strives to achieve the GRDP growth target of 8.5% or more in 2025

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just issued an Action Program on implementing tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, state budget estimates, improving the business environment, and enhancing competitiveness by 2025 with a growth target of 8.5% or higher.

The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested units, localities, departments, etc. to give top priority to promoting economic growth, considering this a key and urgent political task, focusing on 3 main growth drivers: Investment - Export - Consumption. Along with that, creating new breakthrough growth drivers, including: Comprehensive digital transformation, leading the development of green economy and circular economy, forming a knowledge-based economic ecosystem and making cultural industry a spearhead economic sector.

Actions must be decisive, substantial, and effective with the motto "6 clear": clear people, clear work, clear time, clear responsibility, clear product, clear efficiency. Promote the responsibility of leaders in removing difficulties and obstacles, creating the most open and favorable business environment for people and businesses.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized: "Whatever can be done must be done quickly, done to test for the new period 2026-2030. We must be decisive, we must maintain key projects in the area, so that we can enter the next term with the highest possible growth."

The head of the Hanoi city government also requested to fully utilize the effectiveness of the two-level local government model and the specific mechanisms and policies of the Capital Law 2024 to rebuild development space, unleash resources, create new growth poles, and spread development throughout the region. Departments, branches and sectors advise on implementing and completing growth targets, including completing the target of 8.85% growth in gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the third quarter; 9.64% in the fourth quarter and 8.5% or more in the whole year of 2025.

According to economic experts and businesses, to achieve these goals, Hanoi needs to have a breakthrough mindset and proactive and decisive participation of departments, branches and sectors on the basis of effectively exploiting potential and advantages.
