Hanoi bustles on every street during historic Autumn days

On the morning of October 10, many programs took place in Hanoi to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).

In particular, the national celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital was held at the National Convention Center, attracting thousands of delegates.

On the evening of October 10, a welcoming art program will take place at Thang Long Imperial Citadel.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoi, a tourist to the capital, happily said that it was meaningful to be in Hanoi during the historic autumn days. The city was brightly decorated, bustling with development but still maintained its ancient beauty and thousand-year-old traditional culture. Although she was not a Hanoian, she was attracted to the event by enjoying the heroic atmosphere.

To facilitate people to welcome this important event, on the morning of October 10, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in coordination with the Department of Transport and related units, continued to organize a program to experience wearing Ao Dai on a double-decker bus - "Quintessence of Ao Dai," free of charge for people.

On October 10, there will be 6 free shuttle buses serving locals and tourists departing at: 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30. Each shuttle bus will have 3-6 shuttle buses, estimated to pick up 1,056 passengers.

The bus will depart from the Opera House, following the route: Opera House-Trang Tien-Dinh Tien Hoang-Le Thai To-Trang Thi-Dien Bien Phu-Hoang Dieu-Nguyen Bieu-Quan Thanh-Hung Vuong-Hoang Van Thu-Doc Lap-Chu Van An-Le Hong Phong-turn back to Le Hong Phong-Hung Vuong-Nguyen Thai Hoc-Le Duan-Ly Thuong Kiet-Phan Chu Trinh-Hai Ba Trung-Le Thanh Tong-Opera House.

Previously, the Hanoi Department of Tourism organized the City bus program "Quintessence of Ao Dai" on October 4, within the framework of the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024, attracting 700 Hanoi women wearing traditional Ao Dai to participate.

Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Hong Minh said that City bus “Quintessence of Ao Dai,” by bus 2 aims to honor and preserve the unique cultural beauty – the traditional Ao Dai of the Vietnamese people. At the same time, Ao Dai becomes an impressive souvenir product for international tourists when coming to Vietnam.

Through this activity, a new direction is opened, contributing significantly to making Vietnam tourism in general and Hanoi in particular a favorite destination, the top choice of many domestic and international tourists.

Thanks to innovating many forms and models and knowing how to take advantage of major holidays, Hanoi city is increasingly attracting a large number of tourists, is highly appreciated, and earns tens of thousands of billions of VND in budget revenue each year.

In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, the total number of visitors to Hanoi is estimated at 21.12 million, up 11.7% over the same period in 2023; of which international visitors are estimated at 4.45 million, up 40.8% over the same period, domestic tourists are estimated at 16.66 million, up 5.8% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 81,932 billion, up 18.5% over the same period in 2023.
