Speaking on the occasion of the hospital's first anniversary and the launch of the Hanoi Pediatrics Association held today, October 8, Director of Hanoi Pediatrics Hospital Ngo Quang Hung said that the Department of Health and Hanoi City have planned to expand the hospital to 1,000 beds, an increase of 800 beds compared to the current number, to increase the capacity to serve pediatric patients in Hanoi.
Compared to the original target, after phase 1 (with 200 beds with 8 functional rooms, 16 modernly invested clinical departments put into operation), this new plan doubles the size of hospital beds, instead of the previous 500 beds in 2 phases.
Thus, in Hanoi, there are currently two pediatric hospitals, the National Children's Hospital and the Hanoi Children's Hospital. In addition to the first facility, the National Children's Hospital has been in operation for more than 5 decades, and recently added a second facility with 300 beds. In addition, there are pediatric departments in general hospitals to take care of children's health.
After one year of operation, Mr. Hung said that Hanoi Children's Hospital has implemented many techniques such as endoscopic treatment of congenital diaphragmatic hernia, esophageal anastomosis for 2-day-old infants, treatment for children with esophageal perforation after complications of choking on foreign objects...
