Hanoi will expand the Capital Youth Park

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a decision on adjusting and supplementing the 2025 Land Use Plan in Hai Ba Trung. This includes a project to reclaim part of the agricultural land area to build the Capital Youth Park from the old QueenBee gate to the boundary of the planned land area to build the Hai Ba Trung District Cultural - Sports Center in the Northwest of the Capital Youth Park.

The agricultural land area planned for recovery is located in a prime location on Vo Thi Sau Street under the management of Dong Thanh Agricultural Cooperative. This area is currently rented out as a car park, garage, restaurant, etc. This area is all temporary construction, making the whole street shabby and unsightly.

Information from Hai Ba Trung district, the district has established a Land Clearance Council for the above project. After the land is recovered, Hai Ba Trung district will renovate the infrastructure for the park. Returning open space to the people. Hai Ba Trung district will build infrastructure connecting to the area around the park that has been fenced off and renovated before.

According to Hai Ba Trung district, with its prime location on Vo Thi Sau street and the current status of the monument of the same name, the district proposed to change the park's name to Vo Thi Sau Park.

The Capital Youth Park project was approved by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2000, with a scale of 26.4 hectares and a total investment of more than 280 billion VND. During the operation process, 14 construction items appeared that violated the planning and construction permit, such as the Queen Bee restaurant; office building; two outdoor tennis courts. All violations occurred before 2013.

After more than 10 years of existence, through many management agencies, violations at the Capital Youth Park have not been completely handled. In March 2024, Hanoi City assigned Hai Ba Trung District to comprehensively manage the park; establish, appraise, and approve park investment projects according to the district-level management hierarchy.
