This force is identified as the core element, playing a leading role in the development of the capital's industrial sector.
Key industrial enterprises not only assert their position through product quality and brand recognition, but also make increasingly significant contributions to Hanoi's socio -economic growth.
Currently, the city has 107 enterprises with 199 products recognized as key industrial products. These are relatively large enterprises with stable production capacity, high competitiveness, and good international integration capabilities, creating a strong ripple effect on the entire industrial sector.
The figures highlight the crucial role of this sector. Each year, businesses producing key industrial products generate nearly 200 trillion VND in revenue, accounting for approximately 35% of the city's total industrial production value. Export turnover reaches nearly 2 billion USD, while providing stable employment for around 80,000 workers. This is a vital foundation for Hanoi to promote industrial development towards a modern and sustainable direction.
To support businesses in expanding their markets, the city has been stepping up trade promotion activities, product advertising, connecting supply and demand, and seeking partners.
Since 2022, major industrial product trade fairs and exhibitions have been held annually, becoming a large-scale trade promotion channel that helps businesses access new markets, expand their partner networks, and increase orders.
In 2025, the Hanoi City Key Industrial Products Exhibition will continue to be held, bringing together more than 200 businesses with hundreds of booths from many localities in the country and some countries. The event not only creates opportunities to promote brands, but also helps businesses access new technological solutions, green and smart manufacturing trends and digital transformation, thereby increasing the added value of products.
However, alongside the advantages, key industrial enterprises are also facing many challenges. The pressure for technological innovation, automation, digital transformation, and the increasingly high standards of the international market pose a major problem regarding financial resources, access to advanced technology, and especially high-quality human resources.
In reality, the gap between training and the labor needs of businesses still exists. Many young workers lack practical skills, foreign language proficiency, and familiarity with modern production lines, forcing businesses to invest time and money in retraining. In the context of global competition, this is a "bottleneck" that needs to be addressed soon if businesses want to participate more deeply in the supply chain.
Based on this experience, Hanoi is promoting models of collaboration between businesses and training institutions, aiming for training that meets the actual needs of the labor market. Strengthening cooperation in training, internships, applied research, and technology transfer is considered a fundamental solution to forming a highly skilled workforce that masters technology and adapts quickly to the demands of modern production.
In the long term, a synchronized combination of trade promotion, technological innovation support, and human resource development will create a foundation for key industrial enterprises to truly play the role of "leading birds," guiding the capital's industrial sector. By participating more deeply in the global value chain, these enterprises will not only enhance their own competitiveness but also contribute to strengthening Hanoi's position as an important industrial center of the country.
