Recently, in Phuc Thanh village (Thach Khe commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province), there have been a series of cases of local people suffering from allergic dermatitis, suspected to be caused by insect bites. Local authorities and the health sector of Ha Tinh province are urgently investigating, identifying the cause, and promptly handling the source of the disease.

About 2 weeks ago, Mr. D.XQ and his wife (in Phuc Thanh village, Thach Khe commune, Thach Ha district) and 5 family members were bitten by an insect that caused rashes, itching, and skin abrasions, at first only on exposed skin areas such as the arms and legs, then spread to the whole body; the family went to many places for treatment but it did not get better...

After that, many people in the area also had similar symptoms. According to the preliminary investigation, there are currently 46 households with 126 people showing symptoms: central serous papules with bite marks, skin scratches, dark scars from scratching, rubbing concentrated in exposed skin areas such as: forearms, calves, around the waistband; many people have it all over their body, affecting their health and quality of life.

People were bitten by insects causing rashes and itching.

The specialized agency also investigated, monitored and discovered countless flying insects clinging to people's belongings and belongings; clinging to livestock, poultry, clothes, and people's skin to bite and sting.

The insect is reddish brown in color, has a body as small as a grain of rice, has 6 legs, 2 long hind legs, has wings to fly, and can perch everywhere, both inside the house and in the yard, garden... Authorities have not yet determined what kind of insect this is.

People get insect bites that cause contact dermatitis

Thach Ha district has also directed the commune health and cultural station to propagate to local people to stay calm, not to panic and worry too much; actively clean houses, blankets, beds, and gardens; regularly wear long-sleeved clothes, sleep under carefully covered mosquito nets...

CDC Ha Tinh staff are conducting research to soon identify the type of insect causing the disease.

Currently, the Ha Tinh health sector also supports vehicles, chemicals and technical expertise to treat the environment to destroy insects. Notify people to go directly to the Thach Ha District Health Center for examination, consultation, care and treatment to avoid possible complications.

At the same time, continue to investigate households with sick people, isolate areas to spray chemicals to kill insects; closely monitor to detect early developments of the epidemic situation.
