Hai Duong seeks voters' opinions on new commune and ward names associated with place names, history and culture

On the afternoon of April 23, implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Project on rearranging and reorganizing commune-level administrative units of Hai Duong province, districts, towns and cities in the province have deployed to collect voters' opinions on the plan to name new communes and wards after the rearrangement.

The names of communes and wards are all associated with ancient places and famous people, in accordance with the traditional, historical and cultural elements of the locality.

At the same time, localities and units in the province are actively disseminating and propagating widely, grasping public opinion, listening to opinions and creating consensus among the people in implementing the arrangement of administrative units in the province.

Based on the results of the voter consultation, the People's Committee at the commune level will submit to the People's Council at the same level to organize a People's Council meeting to consider and approve the policy of arranging administrative units at the commune level in the locality, the policy of merging Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city; complete the commune-level dossier on the arrangement of administrative units, and report to the People's Committee at the district level.

After the People's Council at the commune level approves, the People's Committee at the district level submits, the People's Councils of districts, towns and cities organize People's Council meetings to consider and approve the policy of arranging administrative units at the commune level.

It is expected that the People's Councils at district and commune levels will complete organizing the People's Council sessions no later than April 25.

On April 28, the Provincial Party Executive Committee plans to hold a conference, the Provincial People's Council will hold a session to consider and approve the policy of merging Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city, and approve the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units of Hai Duong province.

Based on the resolution of the Provincial People's Council, the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee will complete the dossier, ensure progress, and submit it to the Government for consideration before May 1 as required.
