The forces participating in the joint patrol include: Ship 251, Squadron 512, Brigade 127, Region 5, Vietnam People's Navy and Ship 1142 of Ream Sea Base, Royal Cambodian Navy.
During the patrol, the two sides performed the greeting procedure between ASEAN naval ships (Hello ASEAN); exchanged information; practiced hand flags, lights, and whistle signals according to the International Signal Law; practiced search and rescue and used the Code of Conduct for Unplanned Encounters at Sea of Western Pacific Navies (CUES).

Lieutenant Colonel Phung Duc Huy, Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff of Brigade 127, commander of the Vietnam Navy patrol ship, said: During the patrol, the naval ships of the two countries strictly followed the Joint Patrol Coordination Regulations; fully, qualitatively and effectively implemented the contents according to the plan. At the same time, they actively propagated and mobilized fishermen of the two countries to exploit seafood in accordance with the law, without violating the sovereignty of other countries.
With careful preparation and close coordination, the 78th joint patrol between Ship 251 and Ship 1142 was a great success. Thereby, continuing to consolidate and develop the cooperative relationship, enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the two navies, contributing to maintaining security, order, peace and stability in the historical waters of Vietnam-Cambodia.
