I am a Music teacher, appointed as a grade II primary school teacher (code V.07.03.28) according to Circular No. 02/2021/TT-BGDĐT. Currently, I work at a school with two levels (primary and secondary). During the school year, the school leaders assigned me to teach Music at the primary level 10 periods/week, and at the secondary level 12 periods/week. I would like to ask, is the school's assignment of me to teach an additional 12 periods/week at the secondary level in accordance with regulations? Clause 4, Article 3 of Circular No. 05/2025/TT-BGDDT dated March 7, 2025 of the Minister of Education and Training stipulating the working regime for general education and pre-university teachers stipulates: Teachers teaching at general education schools with multiple levels of education are appointed to the professional title of teacher at which level of education, then the teaching period norm prescribed for teachers at that level of education shall be implemented. In case a teacher is assigned to teach at the level of education according to the appointed title and is assigned to teach at another level of education, each teaching period at the other level of education shall be counted as 1 standard period.

Therefore, it is in accordance with regulations that primary school teachers in general schools with many levels are assigned to teach many levels at the same time. At the same time, because you are appointed to the professional title of primary school teacher, you must follow the teaching period norm of primary school teachers (23 periods/week); each teaching period at the secondary level is counted as 1 standard teaching period for primary school teachers.
