Faced with the risk of the Cau River overflowing, the military, police, militia and local people urgently reinforced the dike, determined to protect the lives and property of about 2,000 people living in the area.

According to the People's Committee of Kinh Bac Ward, from 7:00 a.m. on October 7, about 600 people including functional forces and local people began to build 600m of dike with sandbags combined with wave-blocking tarpaulin. By 8:00 a.m. this morning, the reinforcement work continued to be expanded with an additional 2,500 sandbags and 600m of wave-blocking tarpaulin used. On October 8, the 673rd Air Defense Brigade, 12th Corps stationed in Lang Giang ( Bac Ninh ) mobilized forces to support people in building dikes, preventing the risk of flooding.
