The 2024 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on June 21 of Vietnam Airlines Corporation approved the plan to achieve consolidated revenue of VND 105,946 billion, an increase of nearly 14% over last year.
To achieve the above record high revenue, the airline set a target of transporting 22.6 million passengers, 273,500 tons of cargo... Expected consolidated profit after tax is 4,233 billion VND, of which the parent company's profit is 105 billion VND.
The above plan was made by Vietnam Airlines leaders after determining that the Vietnamese market, compared to 2023, is expected to have positive signs both domestically and internationally.
However, the airline still identifies that the macro factors affecting the aviation market still pose many unpredictable risks. Specifically, the overload of airport infrastructure continues to be a serious problem. Meanwhile, some international markets are still not expected to reach pre-pandemic levels due to concerns about economic recession, political conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, Israel and Hamas, etc.
Regarding the domestic market, Vietnam Airlines believes that recovery depends on the impact of the macroeconomic situation and the ability of airlines to supply capacity in the context of a shortage of aircraft resources.
After the first 3 months of the year, Vietnam Airlines recorded consolidated net revenue of VND27,964 billion, an increase of about 19% compared to the same period last year, and consolidated net profit reached VND4,441 billion, while in the same period it still had a loss of VND37 billion. With this result, the airline has achieved more than 26% of its revenue plan and exceeded its profit target.
Meanwhile, Vietjet Air also plans to achieve better growth in both revenue and profit this year. The airline plans to bring in consolidated revenue of VND65,566 billion, up 12.4%, and pre-tax profit of VND1,081 billion, up more than 78%.
Vietjet Air also approved an operating plan with 95 fleets, operating 141,998 flights, up 6.8%; transporting 27.4 million passengers, up 8.3%; average seat utilization rate remaining at 87%, air transport revenue of VND59,066 billion, up 10%.
After the first quarter, Vietjet Air's consolidated revenue reached VND17,791 billion, up 38% year-on-year and 27% of the approved plan. Profit after tax reached VND540 billion, 3 times higher than the same period and 50% higher than the set target.
In line with the trend, Viettravel plans to operate more than 6,200 flights, transporting about 1.1 million passengers, equivalent to an increase of 30% compared to 2022 and an increase of over 2% compared to 2023. Accordingly, Viettravel's air transport revenue is expected to reach VND 1,336 billion, an increase of 66.6% compared to 2022 and an increase of 5.4% compared to 2023.
