No more queuing up to get your iPhone at midnight

Last year, Vietnam was one of the markets that launched the iPhone 16 quite early, just one week after the first batch in the world in the US, Singapore or Japan.

According to many sources, this year the iPhone will be released on the same day as the top markets. With the launch date set for September 9 (0:00 a.m. September 10, Vietnam time), it is likely that the iPhone 17 will be released on September 19.

However, this year the timing of iPhones reaching users will also be different. Every year, some large retail systems often choose to deliver at midnight on the opening day, and many customers who pre-order are willing to line up from the evening to wait to receive their phones. Because they have been upgraded to a group 1 market, dealers will have to strictly follow the company's regulations, including starting deliveries at the same time.

A manager at an Apple product distribution unit confirmed that this year, all units will have to open for sale at 8 a.m. This means that the iPhone 17 will reach Vietnamese users a few hours after the first users globally in Australia and Japan.

In Southeast Asia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia are among the tier 1 markets where there are official Apple Stores and iPhones are available on the first day. On the other hand, some countries that already have Apple Stores, such as Korea, still have to wait quite a while for them to open.

The early sale of iPhone 17 in Vietnam is a positive signal for domestic consumers. It is likely that the scene of jostling in line to buy iPhones imported from neighboring markets such as Singapore or Thailand on the opening day will be a thing of the past.

Dealers are still required to adhere to strict regulations on disclosing information related to the iPhone 17. The phrase "iPhone 17" has disappeared from the official websites of the distributors. Information, including the time and price, will be released immediately after the event ends in the early morning of September 10.

According to leaked sources, this year Apple will launch the iPhone 17 Air, the thinnest iPhone ever to replace the Plus line.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with the A19 Pro chip, a triple 48 MP rear camera cluster with 8x optical zoom, and are part of Apple's 3-year design upgrade plan. AirPods Pro 3 are also expected to launch at the event, replacing the predecessor that has been on the shelves for two years.
