Over the years, the Party Committee and the Battalion Command have always focused on political and ideological education, training revolutionary mettle, cultivating moral qualities and lifestyles, promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the movement "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers"; building a clean and strong Party organization associated with building a strong and comprehensive unit. Every year, the Party Committee and the Battalion Command have deployed officers, soldiers and organizations in the unit to register for emulation to follow Uncle Ho; focused on innovating and improving the quality of activities "Political and spiritual culture day"; implementing models of "Law day", "Learning one law every week", "Psychological counseling group"... thereby contributing to improving the mettle, stance and ideology of officers and soldiers.

In particular, the unit promotes propaganda work on "Uncle Ho's teachings on this day in history" through the Battalion's internal radio program and company bulletin board, integrated into daily activities and studies... so that all soldiers thoroughly understand and absorb Uncle Ho's ideology, morality and style, thereby learning and following.

Entering implementation, the unit identified important content, which is to promote the vanguard and exemplary nature of cadres and party members, especially cadres in charge; practice saying what you do, say less and do more. Many individuals have become shining examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. A typical example is Major Nguyen Quang Hop, Battalion Commander of Battalion 40, Regiment 762, who is always exemplary in words and actions, loving and helping comrades and teammates. Promoting a sense of responsibility, every year he does a good job of advising commanders at all levels on measures to lead the successful implementation of the Party Committee's resolutions and orders on combat readiness training from superiors. Studying and following Uncle Ho, Major Nguyen Quang Hop always upholds the spirit of self-study, regularly participates in researching initiatives, improving teaching aids and training equipment models at the unit. Among them are the initiatives "Infantry gun trigger lock" and "Ruler to check the shooting angle of infantry guns". His initiatives have been widely and effectively applied in the training of Regiment 762.

In training, the unit always thoroughly grasps and implements the motto "Basic, practical, solid, attaching importance to synchronous and specialized training", well implements 3 viewpoints, 8 principles, 6 combinations, closely follows reality, correctly implements the set plan, the program, and has enough content for the subjects. The Party Committee and the Battalion Command have organized the establishment of a training staff framework; perfected the Party Committee, Party cells, and staff at all levels and organized strict and serious training. All Party cells have specialized resolutions to lead the task of training new soldiers, focusing on proposing policies and solutions, assigning tasks to each cadre and Party member in the process of performing the task... With the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", generations of soldiers of the unit constantly strive to study and train to achieve high results. Thanks to that, the results of training courses in recent years have often had 100% of the troops meeting the requirements, of which 80 to 85% are good and excellent; the Battalion has always achieved the title of excellent training unit.

The Battalion Party Committee has done a good job in building and developing the Party. Up to now, it has trained and recruited more than 400 Party members. Party members and soldiers who have completed their military service and returned to their localities have maintained and promoted the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively participating in social work and local economic development.

Along with the training and combat readiness tasks, the unit has strengthened the implementation of mass mobilization work. Through field trips, the unit has combined mass mobilization work in many localities such as organizing free medical examination and treatment, helping people to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, actively working in production, repairing roads, cleaning the environment, making concrete roads in the New Rural Construction movement; helping people in emergency situations, preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. Through many specific and practical ways, Battalion 40 is a collective that has been commended and rewarded by the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command for its outstanding achievements in implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW and Resolution No. 847-NQ/QUTW of the Central Military Commission.

Major Nguyen Dinh Truong, Political Commissar of Battalion 40, said: "In any conditions and circumstances, the Party Committee and commanders at all levels in the Battalion are always proactive, creative, improving their leadership, command and management capacity of agencies and units to perform well the assigned tasks. The team of officers and soldiers of the Battalion always uphold the revolutionary tradition of previous generations, determined to take the lead in performing tasks, building strong and comprehensive agencies and units, worthy of being a loyal and trustworthy force of the Party and the People, contributing to building the armed forces of Thanh Hoa province to be revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and gradually modern, meeting the requirements of the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period".
