According to the Daily Mail on August 7 , the Cessna Citation XLS aircraft, belonging to the air ambulance service, crashed into a building in the Mwihoko residential area, Kiambu district. At that time, the aircraft took off from Wilson Airport in the capital Nairobi at 14:14 and was heading to Somaliland.
Local police commander Anthony Keter said the accident happened near Morendat Farm northeast of Lake Naivasha.

Kiambu County Commissioner Henry Waful told reporters at the scene that four people on board the plane, including the pilot, died in the crash.
"Two other victims on the ground died. They were in the house the plane crashed into. In addition, two people were seriously injured," the local official said.
A witness said she heard a loud bang, then a "fireball" erupted and debris was scattered across the neighborhood.
Other videos shared online show firefighters trying to extinguish the fire in a residential area.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority added that the plane lost contact with air traffic control three minutes after takeoff.
The Kenya Red Cross said rescue teams rushed to the scene in Kiambu, near the capital Nairobi. The plane was owned by the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF).
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
Previously, in April 2024, the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenyan Army was among 10 people killed when the military helicopter carrying them crashed shortly after takeoff.
