At the event, Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that the Vietnam Tourism Association is committed to continuing to accompany the Mekong Delta Tourism Association and tourism associations of provinces and cities in supporting development and creating an effective connection environment for members; constantly striving for the common cause of the entire industry. In the coming time, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association will focus on guiding tourism associations of provinces and cities in the region to complete merger procedures according to the new administrative boundaries; at the same time, closely coordinate with state management agencies on tourism in researching and proposing planning for destinations, building tourism products and tourism services according to the new administrative boundaries, actively contributing to the rapid increase in the number of domestic and international tourists in 2025 and the following years.
The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association suggested that the Mekong Delta Tourism Association focus on researching and mobilizing businesses and members to transform towards green and sustainable development; accelerate digital transformation, apply information technology in the process of managing, operating and organizing tourism activities in a practical and effective manner. Mobilize members to participate in the program of building new tourism products, tourism stimulus programs; commit to product quality, reasonable prices, contributing to building a friendly image of the Mekong Delta, bringing many new experiences to domestic and international tourists.

According to the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, in the first 6 months of 2025, the total number of tourists to the Mekong Delta is estimated at over 35 million, an increase of 17.6% over the same period in 2024. Of which, there are over 2 million international visitors; an increase of 53.4% over the same period in 2024; domestic visitors are over 33 million, an increase of 16% over the same period in 2024. Total revenue from tourism activities is nearly 54,000 billion VND, an increase of 54% over the same period in 2024.
Mr. Le Thanh Phong, Permanent Vice President of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, said that in the coming time, localities need to pay attention to developing unique tourism products, forming high-value tourism products to attract tourists. In addition, it is necessary to mobilize businesses to maintain, stabilize and improve the quality of typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta; regularly add new attractive products and services to attract tourists in the direction of green tourism, close to nature; strengthen linkage activities, cooperation in tourism development between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the region, forming new tours and tourist routes.
