Before starting to study Radio Communication Equipment, Sergeant Nguyen Ba Duong - a student of Battalion 26, had many days to learn about the upcoming lesson. With the electronic learning materials system available on the school's system, he can research, grasp the general overview of the subject to come up with a suitable learning method for himself. "The knowledge and lecture videos are all available, I can watch them in advance. Therefore, when starting to officially study in the classroom, both lecturers and students can spend more time focusing on exchanging and discussing instead of just listening to one-way lectures from the lecturer" - Mr. Duong shared.

The above learning method has been applied by the Information Officer School in recent years, under the name "Flip Classroom", used in a number of specialized subjects and foreign languages. Major, Doctor Pham Ky - lecturer of the Radio Equipment Department, Faculty of Radio, said that thanks to the application of the "Flip Classroom" model, when entering class hours, time is mainly spent on exchange, group discussion, situation analysis, handling exercises, especially practicing on specialized equipment. This approach helps the class hours to be of better quality, students participate more actively, the classroom atmosphere is more exciting, and lecturers have the conditions to observe, orient and closely support each individual.
Colonel, Associate Professor, PhD NGUYEN NHU THANG - Vice Principal of the Information Officer School: The practical application of the "Flip Classroom" model has proven that this is a correct direction, in line with the modern development trend, digital transformation in military education and training; contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning, training students in the core qualities of an information officer in the new era, such as: self-study and research capacity, ability to handle situations quickly, creative spirit in professional work... This is a clear demonstration of the school's determination to innovate and create in education and training, contributing to building a team of regular, elite, modern information officers, meeting the requirements of the tasks of the Vietnam People's Army in the new revolutionary period.
Lieutenant Colonel, Master Dang The Hieu - Head of the Foreign Language Department, Faculty of Basic Sciences said that through the practical application process in the department, many students have made significant progress, become more proactive in studying documents, have careful preparation before class and are more confident when giving opinions or debating with classmates. Survey results in the subjects of information technology and foreign languages show that students have a better grasp of theoretical knowledge, their ability to think logically and critically is improved, and their practical effectiveness is also significantly improved. Direct teachers also see a positive change in their role, from knowledge transmitters to guides, organizers and support students in developing their self-study and problem-solving abilities.

Colonel, Associate Professor, PhD Nguyen Nhu Thang - Vice Principal of the Information Officer School said: "In the early days of implementation, the model encountered many difficulties such as: Some students were initially confused because they were not familiar with the proactive learning method, leading to a difference in the level of preparation before class; for lecturers, designing electronic lectures, building a digital learning materials system and organizing classroom activities requires more time and effort than the traditional method; in addition, the information technology infrastructure has not been invested synchronously to meet the requirements of online learning and effective exploitation of digital learning materials... However, thanks to the close guidance of the Party Committee, the School Board of Directors, and the positive and proactive spirit of the teaching staff and students, the initial difficulties have been gradually overcome".
The school has focused on perfecting the electronic learning materials system, implementing training for lecturers; encouraging students to promote self-study; and at the same time expanding the scope of application of "Flipped Classroom" from a number of pilot subjects to many other subjects. Thanks to that, this model has increasingly affirmed its effectiveness, creating a solid foundation for innovating teaching methods throughout the school. Up to now, the "Flipped Classroom" model has been widely deployed, contributing positively to innovating teaching methods, meeting the requirements of training high-quality military human resources in the period of integration and modernization.
