By the end of 2024, the 800m long Dam Buon - Xom Giao inter-village road (Dam Ha commune, Dam Ha district) will be expanded from 3m to 6m, with asphalt paving; along the road there will be drainage culverts and lighting, making it more convenient for people to travel and transport agricultural products.
To build a bright - green - clean - beautiful model road, the Front Work Committee and the Party Cell of Dam Buon village mobilized people to contribute working days and funds to plant 300 tamarind trees and 100 coconut trees along both sides of the road. Every week, the village regularly maintains the "Green Sunday" movement with the participation of many people, contributing to building and forming a more civilized and environmentally responsible lifestyle for each villager, while strengthening community solidarity.
Ms. Ha Thi Ly (Dam Buon village) said: Every day I walk on the clean and beautiful road, I feel so excited, my hometown is so beautiful and peaceful. Every Sunday morning, I join everyone in cleaning, taking care of flowers and ornamental plants on both sides of the road to contribute to making the village more and more beautiful.
In order to promote the role of members and women in joining hands to protect the environment, build an increasingly green, clean and beautiful living environment, in recent years, the Women's Union of Quang Ha town (Hai Ha district) has deployed the "Model of 5 no, 3 clean" associated with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. The movement has attracted a large number of members to participate, including many good and creative models and practices that have been unanimously supported by members, typically: "Turning trash into money", "Women in the town limit the use of plastic bags, do not discharge hazardous waste into the environment", "Building flower roads and walking streets", "Building civilized and friendly streets", "Green living association".
In the past 3 years, the "Turning trash into money" model has collected over 60 million VND to support 38 students from poor and near-poor households; 131 elderly members, those in difficult circumstances, sudden accidents, long-term illnesses; and buying flower seeds to plant on Chu Van An walking street. Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Hang, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of the town, affirmed: Although the work is small, it has great and practical significance, which is to raise awareness of self-management of environmental protection among the people, thereby limiting the widespread disposal of plastic waste, contributing to the development of the town in an environmentally friendly direction.
To date, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations have deployed and replicated over 100 models of waste collection and treatment, climate change response, sustainable poverty reduction and environmental protection in residential areas. The models have contributed to promote the strength of national solidarity, effectively carry out environmental protection work, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas. In many localities, people join hands with the government to build, protect and renovate infrastructure systems; dredge drainage ditches; plant trees; maintain sanitation activities, clean up streets, village roads, and alleys; classify waste at source, reduce plastic waste.
In the coming time, the provincial Fatherland Front at all levels will continue to innovate the content, forms of mobilization, and organization of activities of self-managed groups and teams on environmental protection in a diverse direction, suitable for many groups of people, the actual situation in localities and residential areas. At the same time, build and replicate pilot models on environmental protection, integrated with the National Target Program on building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Thereby, continuing to raise the sense of responsibility of each individual and community in participating in environmental protection.
