The above information was announced by a representative of the Department of Public Asset Management (Ministry of Finance) at the regular press conference for the third quarter of 2025, organized by the Ministry of Finance on the afternoon of October 3.

Responding to press questions about the handling of surplus assets after implementing the two-level local government, a representative of the Department of Public Asset Management said that to ensure effective use of headquarters, the Ministry of Finance has submitted to competent authorities to issue handling plans, with priority given to the fields of science, health, and education.

Recently, the Ministry has issued more than 10 documents guiding ministries, branches and localities in arranging and handling public assets.

As of September 30, more than 14,050 houses and land have been processed; the number of facilities that need further processing is 13,759 in 34 provinces and cities.

According to periodic statistics, the implementation progress is assessed as positive, the number of facilities needing to be handled is gradually decreasing.

To avoid waste and degraded headquarters, for central units located in the area, the Ministry of Finance has requested to review, evaluate, and coordinate with localities to exchange or hand over to localities when no longer needed.

Recently, the Ministry of Finance continued to send documents to the People's Committees of provinces, cities, ministries and branches, requesting to promote and direct strongly in the coming period to thoroughly handle surplus housing and land.
