According to the proposed plan, Ung Hoa district plans to reorganize and merge the current commune-level administrative units into four new administrative units, including Van Dinh, Ung Thien, Hoa Xa and Ung Hoa. This is an important step to perfect the organizational structure, improve the effectiveness of state management, and at the same time be consistent with the orientation of urban and rural space development in the area.
Specifically, the new administrative unit of Van Dinh has a natural area of 41.46 km², a population of 60,758 people, including all communes: Cao Son Tien, Van Dinh town, Phuong Tu, Tao Duong Van.
Ung Thien administrative unit has an area of 38.50km², population of 53,885 people, including the communes: Hoa Vien, Quang Phu Cau, Truong Thinh, Lien Bat.
Hoa Xa administrative unit is 40.43km² wide, with a population of 69,366 people, merging the communes: Thai Hoa, Hoa Phu, Phu Luu, Binh Luu Quang.
Ung Hoa administrative unit has an area of 67.7km², population of 63,634 people, including the communes: Trung Tu, Dong Tan, Minh Duc, Kim Duong, Dong Lo, Dai Cuong, Dai Hung and Tram Long.
Previously, the Standing Committee of Ung Hoa District Party Committee held a meeting to carefully analyze historical factors, administrative boundaries, and development planning of the city and district; at the same time, discussed and agreed to propose keeping the traditional names, closely associated with local history and culture for the new units after the arrangement.
The arrangement of commune-level administrative units not only meets the requirements on area and population criteria as prescribed, but also creates favorable conditions for management, resource mobilization and socio-economic development, in line with the master plan orientation of Hanoi Capital to 2030, vision 2045.
