Wind Abstinence Festival 2025 coming soon in Binh Lieu: Honoring the cultural heritage of the Dao people

From April 30 to May 4, in Dong Van commune, Binh Lieu district (Quang Ninh), the Wind Abstinence Festival will take place - a unique spiritual and cultural festival of the Thanh Phan Dao people. The highlight of this year is the Ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on including "Wind Abstinence Custom of the Dao people in Dong Van commune" in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The 2025 Wind Abstinence Festival is expected to bring many attractive activities such as: Opening ceremony, Art Festival, traditional sports competition (stick pushing, tug of war, throwing shuttlecock, spinning top...), and spinning top exchange activities between Vietnam - China border localities, contributing to strengthening friendship. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience local cultural space through booths and community tourism activities...

This year's Wind Abstinence Festival promises to be a special highlight during the holiday, bringing a unique cultural and tourism experience to the highland border region.

The event is a meaningful activity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), International Labor Day (May 1) and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China. This is also an important occasion to promote the image of Binh Lieu as an attractive border tourism destination, aiming to welcome 500,000 visitors in 2025.
