The spacious courtyard of the Pleiku Museum became a competition ground for students, showcasing their knowledge, dexterity, and teamwork. This was the second time the Pleiku Museum collaborated in organizing this "learning through play - playing through learning" activity, helping students experience and learn, fostering a greater love for and awareness of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the nation.
The "Golden Bell" quiz format is not new, but it's always eagerly awaited by contestants, offering valuable knowledge about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh , as well as the nature, people, heritage, and historical sites of Gia Lai province.
At this competition, some contestants who hadn't kept up with the situation in the newly merged Gia Lai province were left sweating profusely with questions related to the province's geographical location; the long-established ethnic groups; the adjacent areas after the merger; the number of commune-level administrative units; the national highways passing through the province; and the intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO… Many schools had to quickly use their rescue rights to bring their contestants back to the competition.
Bui Ha My (class 11A1, Chi Lang High School) commented that many questions in this section of the exam had very similar answers and were designed to trick, so candidates who did not have a solid grasp of the knowledge could easily be eliminated.
“Although I had to leave the competition after the 10th question, through this event I gained a lot of useful knowledge about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, the historical sites and cultural heritage of the province… I also realized areas of knowledge that I haven't studied in depth enough to invest in and update further,” My said.
Skill and creativity were also emphasized in the program through the "Potato Making" competition. As requested by the organizers, each team practiced the potter's wheel technique on the spot and completed five products, then decorated them with patterns. Many characteristic images and patterns of the highland region were beautifully depicted on the pottery products by the contestants, such as: wild sunflowers, coffee beans, rice stalks, an octagonal sun, communal houses, gongs, etc.
Notably, the team from Gia Lai Province's No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School presented a set of five miniature jars. The large jar symbolized the older generation and ancestors, while the smaller jars represented the younger generation, those who would inherit and promote cultural values. Explaining how these jars are indispensable in all the festivals of the indigenous people, such as weddings, ear-piercing ceremonies, and new rice harvest celebrations, the team representative from Gia Lai Province's No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School expressed their hope that after the merger, the unique and rich traditional values of the ethnic groups in the province would continue to be preserved and spread.

During the program, the joyful and lively team spirit was also fostered through incredibly exciting competitions such as: bamboo pole dancing, tug-of-war, sack racing, blindfolded pig catching...
Le Thi Yen Vy (Class 12C1, Pleiku High School) said: “This is the first time I’ve participated in such a fun and interesting playground. From here, I’ve learned more useful knowledge and gained a better understanding of our national cultural identity.”

On the afternoon of October 19th, the organizing committee held the closing ceremony and awarded prizes for each competition. Specifically, Hung Vuong Specialized High School led in the "Ringing the Golden Bell" and blindfolded pig catching competitions; Le Loi High School won first prize in the sack race. Leading in all three competitions – bamboo pole jumping, pottery making, and tug-of-war – was the team from Hung Vuong Specialized High School.
Gia Lai Province's Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 excellently won first place overall. Second place overall went to Nguyen Chi Thanh High School and Pleiku High School. Third place was shared by three schools: Phan Boi Chau High School, Hung Vuong Specialized High School, and Le Loi High School. Hoang Hoa Tham High School and Chi Lang High School received consolation prizes.
Amidst the jubilant atmosphere of the team with the most outstanding performance in the program, Dang Siu Ngoc Hoa (class 12D) excitedly shared: “Students of Gia Lai Province No. 2 Ethnic Boarding High School study when they need to study, and play when they need to play. With a spirit of teamwork and solidarity, the team is very happy to have won in this knowledge and skills competition.”
