Lighting up faith in the old revolutionary base
From early morning, more than 530 people of Canh Tien village were excited with the sound of gongs and the brilliant colors of traditional brocade costumes, to welcome the important event. After half a century of national unification, Canh Tien, an important revolutionary base during the war in Binh Dinh, has now been connected to the light source of the national grid, once again affirming the attention and care of the Party and State for people in remote areas.
Canh Tien village is located in the middle of rugged mountains, making transportation difficult. The lives of 188 households were previously lacking in many ways, especially the lack of electricity, which greatly affected their daily life, production and study. Previously, people only relied on solar power or small diesel generators, which were both expensive and unstable.

Determined to improve the living conditions of the people, in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee mobilized many resources, opened roads, and brought electricity to the village. The project to supply electricity to Canh Tien village was implemented by Binh Dinh Electricity Company, with a total investment of 15 billion VND. The project includes the construction of 12.9 km of new medium-voltage lines, 2.2 km of low-voltage lines, 3 transformer stations, and the installation of 188 remote electronic meters and an indoor electrical system for all households.
After just over 4 months of construction in complex mountainous terrain and harsh weather conditions, the project was completed, ahead of schedule, ensuring safety and quality.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: "The project to supply electricity to Canh Tien village is not only a tribute to the people who contributed to the revolution, but also realizes the aspiration for a life full of light, information, knowledge, opening up a sustainable development future for the people".
Big turning point for difficult land
From now on, Canh Tien villagers will have a stable, high-quality power source to serve their daily life, production, and study; instead of depending on unstable, high-cost power sources. Children will be able to study in better conditions, people will have easier access to information, medical and educational services, and expand economic development opportunities. Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of the Central Power Corporation, pledged: "We not only turn on the power to celebrate the project, but also ensure long-term stable operation, instructing people on safe and economical use of electricity. When the locality develops further, the Corporation will continue to invest in 3-phase electricity to serve the production activities and tourism services of the village."
On this occasion, the Central Power Corporation supported 40 million VND for the village's Education Promotion Fund and supported the cost of installing electricity, light bulbs, switches, etc. for households worth 50 million VND. The Provincial People's Committee presented 180 gifts to all households.
The event of Canh Tien village having electricity marks the completion of the goal of universalizing electricity in all villages and communes of the province, following previous achievements in Canh Giao village (Canh Hiep commune) and O2 village (Vinh Kim commune).
Bringing electricity to Canh Tien village not only has a special meaning for a locality, but also affirms the comprehensive, sustainable development path, taking people as the center in the country's development strategy. Thereby, shortening the development gap between remote areas and other areas, consolidating the great national unity bloc, and enhancing national defense and security in mountainous areas.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested the People's Committees of Van Canh district and Canh Lien commune to continue supporting people to effectively exploit national electricity sources for production and business development; at the same time, he hoped that people would continue to promote revolutionary traditions, solidarity, compete in labor production, preserve traditional cultural values, and build an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
Looking at the bright smiles on the faces of people like Dinh Thi Thuy, who had just eagerly bought a new TV to welcome electricity. The young couple Dinh Thi Tinh and Dinh Van Toan held a wedding on the day of the inauguration ceremony to welcome electricity to the village with the desire to remember the great event of the village. The joy of the people is indescribable, only by witnessing it can one truly understand the great significance of the electricity that lit up Canh Tien: the light of faith, of the desire to change, to reach for the future.
