Challenges from the "hot seat"
Since he was a student at the National Economics University, Le Tien Thinh has been passionate about business and has soon shaped his ideals in life. After graduating, he did not choose a safe path, but embarked on a career path in many fields, from information technology to high-tech agriculture...
However, the turning point and biggest mark in his journey was… the artichoke. In 2023, after a rich experience, including both success and failure, he chose to sit in the “hot seat” - General Director of Ladophar, when the business was on the brink, losing its direction for development. For many people, this choice is very unsafe, but for 7x businessman Le Tien Thinh, this is the opportunity to create change.
Consumer trust is paramount
After working in the healthcare industry, what do you find most important?
That is the trust of consumers. Health is extremely valuable to humans. When a person chooses to use Ladophar products to take care of themselves or their loved ones, it means that they have great trust in us.
Every product Ladophar brings to the market is a commitment to
quality, dedication and professional ethics. In this industry, profit cannot come before conscience. Only by putting human health at the center can businesses develop sustainably and be accepted by society.
What do you think is the essence of Ladophar?
The essence of Ladophar lies in the combination of human intelligence, the essence of nature and the philosophy of sustainable development. We do not simply exploit medicinal herbs, but always seek to deeply understand the biological, cultural and social values of each medicinal plant. Artichoke, Ngoc Linh ginseng, yellow flower tea… are not only raw materials, but also symbols of a harmonious ecosystem between humans and nature.
Ladophar values locality, develops with the farming community, thereby creating a closed, sustainable value chain. The essence does not lie in the final product, but in the process of nurturing value from root to tip, from land to people.
What are Ladophar's plans for the coming years?
In the next 5 years, I aim for Ladophar to become the leading modern pharmaceutical research and production center in Southeast Asia, with products of high scientific content, extracted from precious medicinal herbs of Vietnam. We will expand the pharmaceutical chemistry sector, invest in biotechnology, artificial intelligence to control quality and develop products. At the same time, Ladophar continues to expand its distribution system domestically and internationally.
In parallel, we will realize the medicinal tourism model.
Ecological in Dalat, where nature and people are closely connected, where visitors can not only relax, but also experience and understand
deeper into the value of Vietnamese medicinal herbs. The future of Ladophar lies not only in growth numbers, but in becoming a symbol of a green, healthy and proud Vietnam.
At the time Mr. Thinh took over Ladophar, the company was in a state of prolonged losses, unstable personnel, lack of differentiation in products, and an outdated business model. He started by bringing the business back to its core values, focusing on core products - natural medicinal herbs, especially artichoke - a precious medicinal herb, considered the "green gold" of Da Lat, Lam Dong. In addition, the new General Director devoted himself to rebuilding trust from internal staff.
Instead of cutting costs and following short-term trends, Mr. Thinh chose to invest heavily in product quality, choosing a sustainable path by closely connecting with farmers. Not only selling products, he built a complete medicinal ecosystem, from plant varieties, cultivation processes, technical training, to purchasing products at stable prices, helping hundreds of farming households in Da Lat stabilize and develop their economy.
After 2 years, Ladophar has grown strongly from a continuously loss-making enterprise. In 2024, the Company reported a profit of 6.9 billion VND; artichoke output skyrocketed from 423 tons to 1,800 tons, expected to reach 2,500 tons in 2025. These figures reflect the economic efficiency of Ladophar's sustainable development model.
Along with strengthening internal strength, CEO Le Tien Thinh also has the ambition to make Ladophar a symbol of Vietnamese medicinal herbs in the international market. He restructured the distribution system, expanded branches in the North and Ho Chi Minh City, invested in a GMP-WHO standard factory with a budget of more than 200 billion VND, developed new products that met domestic and international standards...
Thanks to its synchronous and sustainable development strategy, Ladophar has rapidly expanded its export market, bringing artichoke tea, artichoke powder and other medicinal herbs to the US, Japan, Korea, Thailand and the Middle East. The company also cooperates with international partners such as Hoang Tra Company (under Hongyi Travel, Taiwan, China), signing contracts worth billions of VND, opening the door for products combined with health tourism.
With a business philosophy that is closely linked to social responsibility, Ladophar focuses on investing in people and bringing value to the community. The company carries out many volunteer activities, supports people in difficult circumstances, develops clean growing areas and provides vocational training for local youth. In particular, CEO Le Tien Thinh also cherishes the idea of turning Da Lat into an ecological medicinal tourism center, where visitors can not only relax, but also experience planting, processing and discovering local medicinal herbs. This model contributes to nature conservation, promotes green economy and brings sustainable value.

New journey and ambition to reach new heights
Successful with raw medicinal herbs and functional foods, CEO Le Tien Thinh continues to lead Ladophar on a new journey by establishing a pharmaceutical chemistry company, researching and producing specialized medicines extracted from artichokes and rare medicinal herbs such as Ngoc Linh ginseng, red pine, golden flower tea...
“We do not want to stop at health support products, but aim to become a modern pharmaceutical research and production center, combining traditional medicine with advanced technology so that Vietnamese products can compete fairly with international brands,” Mr. Thinh shared.
Expanding into pharmaceutical chemistry is a strategic move of Ladophar to contribute to raising Vietnam's position on the world pharmaceutical map. Vietnam has abundant medicinal resources, Vietnamese enterprises have the ability to master technology and build prestigious brands.
Along with the development of scale, Ladophar focuses on building a creative working environment, attracting talents and young workers, creating motivation to learn and develop. Ladophar aims to lead the domestic market in artichoke and natural medicinal products in the next 5 years; and to expand to the Asian, European and American markets.
Domestically, the extensive distribution network, with more than 1,800 points of sale nationwide, including large supermarket and pharmacy chains, helps Ladophar reach a large number of consumers. In addition, the Company actively
Participate in international trade promotion events, seek opportunities to expand into the global market.
Ladophar applies modern technology in production and management, combining smart software and artificial intelligence, optimizing processes, improving productivity and ensuring quality. The company cooperates with international experts to develop products according to ISO, HACCP standards, especially Halal certification, expanding the market to the Muslim community.
Not only focusing on product development, Ladophar also focuses on protecting nature and developing a green economy in Da Lat - the city of thousands of flowers, a land famous for pine hills, clear blue lakes... Visitors coming here will be able to participate in classes, experience planting and processing medicinal herbs, contributing to building a unique brand of eco-medicinal tourism, harmonizing economic development and nature conservation.
Choosing to quietly sow green seeds on cold soil, so that artichokes not only bloom on the Da Lat plateau, but also spread their mark to the international market, CEO Le Tien Thinh and the Ladophar team have, are and will continue to write inspirational stories about aspiration, innovation and responsibility to the community.
