On the afternoon of May 30, the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children 2025, with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children". Mr. Ngo Vu Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Child Protection Executive Board attended the launching ceremony.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Ngo Vu Thang emphasized: Protecting, caring for andeducating children is both a goal and a driving force in the human resource development strategy of our Party and State for the sustainable development of the country.

To have more conditions to care for and support children better, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that all levels and sectors need to strengthen propaganda to raise both awareness and action of the whole society on the policies, laws of the Party and the State on children in general and children in especially difficult circumstances in particular; mobilize resources inside and outside the province to contribute with the Party, the State and the People to well implement social security policies, protect, educate, care for children, ensure rights, improve the quality of life for children; all levels, sectors, organizations, parents, teachers and the whole society pay attention and give priority to children, build a safe, friendly and healthy environment for all children to live and develop in all areas. Prioritize the best resources for implementing goals for children and basic rights of children, prioritize the selection of urgent issues in the field of children in the locality. Mobilize the whole society to participate in activities to protect, care for and educate children in especially difficult circumstances, help children from poor households, near-poor households, disabled children, orphans, abused children, children who are abused, children affected by HIV/AIDS... Pay attention, promptly visit and support families with children in especially difficult circumstances through socio -economic development programs, sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, social protection...
According to the Department of Health, the province currently has over 184,200 children, including over 260 orphans and abandoned children and nearly 1,150 children with disabilities. In 2024, sectors and levels organized many practical activities for children in difficult circumstances such as: visiting and giving over 850 gifts to children in difficult circumstances, children at peer clubs; buying and issuing nearly 68,800 health insurance cards to children under 6 years old; organizing visits and giving over 2,400 gifts on the occasion of International Children's Day, Mid-Autumn Festival to children in especially difficult circumstances, children being cared for at orphanages; mobilizing Children Action Organization, Vietnam Heartbeat Service Company Limited, Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients to support 7 heart surgeries, with a total amount of over 800 million VND...
In 2025, the Provincial Department of Health will advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan to organize the implementation of the Month of Action for Children in 2025, with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children", including specific activities: coordinating with relevant provincial departments, branches, sectors, and organizations and localities to organize a launching ceremony to respond to the Month of Action for Children from the province to the grassroots level. Organizing a communication campaign to raise awareness and consciousness, and responsibility of competent agencies, organizations, and individuals in solving children's issues and preventing and minimizing the risks of child abuse, accidents, and injuries. Mobilizing organizations and individuals to support the Children's Protection Fund; building schools, classrooms, boarding houses, playgrounds, and entertainment venues for children; visiting, giving gifts, scholarships, and supporting medical examination and treatment for poor children and ethnic minority children. Open training classes on safety skills to prevent accidents and injuries, teach swimming to children...
At the launching ceremony, representatives of the provincial People's Committee and departments and branches presented 70 scholarships (VND 500,000/scholarship) to children in districts, towns and cities in the province. At the same time, they visited and presented 55 gifts (VND 500,000/scholarship) to orphans living at the provincial Social Protection Center and Long Phuoc Orphanage.
