Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that the city currently has more than 1,350 craft villages, accounting for 40% of the craft villages nationwide. In particular, Hanoi has two craft villages, Van Phuc Silk Weaving - Ha Dong and Bat Trang Ceramics, which are recognized as members of the Network of Creative Craft Cities worldwide . The cuisine of the capital is very diverse and rich, with the quintessence of thousand-year-old secrets, family traditions, and many regional specialties creating many proud cultural identities... These are favorable potential advantages for Hanoi to implement the One Commune One Product Program.
From 2019 to present, Hanoi has evaluated and classified 3,317 OCOP products (accounting for 21.3% of the country), including 6 5-star products, 22 potential 5-star products, 1,571 4-star products and 1,718 3-star products; the leading locality in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tinh, Vice Chairman of Tay Ho District People's Committee, the event introducing OCOP products associated with the culture of the Red River Delta provinces was organized to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and major national holidays in 2025.
The event is part of a series of trade promotion activities with the aim of displaying and introducing regional OCOP products and craft villages of the Red River Delta provinces. Each product brought to the event bears the cultural and traditional imprints and indigenous knowledge of each locality. OCOP products are not only unique gifts but also a bridge for us to better understand the diversity and richness of culture in each region and locality, meeting the diverse sightseeing and shopping needs of people and tourists in Hanoi and Tay Ho district.
It is known that during the event, there will also be cultural and artistic exchange programs in the evenings from various localities. The event will last until June 2.
