Ankara Billiards World Cup is coming
In the first half of June, Vietnamese 3-cushion carom players will compete at the Ankara Billiards World Cup - Türkiye. This tournament starts from June 9 and lasts until June 15. Up to now, according to the allocation of the World Carom Billiards Federation, 4 Vietnamese players will be specially invited to appear from the main round (round 32) of the Ankara 2025 Billiards World Cup, including: Tran Quyet Chien, Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Thanh Luc, Chiem Hong Thai. Accordingly, the top 14 players on the UMB rankings will automatically have tickets to round 32. Quyet Chien, Phuong Vinh and Thanh Luc are all in the top 14. Meanwhile, Hong Thai ranked 15th and should have competed from the 4th qualifying round, but he was promoted to round 32, because there was 1 player in the top 14 who did not participate.
Tran Quyet Chien has been playing with quite good form, but has not been lucky in recent tournaments.

In addition to the four names mentioned above, the remaining Vietnamese players had to compete in the qualifying rounds. Nguyen Tran Thanh Tu played in the fourth qualifying round. Dao Van Ly competed from the third qualifying round. Nguyen Chi Long, Nguyen Hoan Tat, and Thon Viet Hoang Minh started from the second qualifying round. Nguyen Dinh Luan appeared in the first qualifying round.
A name of interest is genius Frederic Caudron who will also participate in the Ankara 2025 Billiards World Cup. The Belgian player born in 1968 will play from the 4th qualifying round.

Tran Quyet Chien is currently the Vietnamese player with the most World Cup billiards championships, with 4 crowns. Tran Thanh Luc and Tran Duc Minh each have 1 World Cup billiards championship. Last season, Quyet Chien won the first World Cup billiards championship of 2024, taking place in Bogota, Colombia. But this year, Vietnam's number 1 player has yet to win any titles.
At the 2025 Bogota Billiards World Cup, Tran Quyet Chien stopped at the round of 16, when he lost to Dick Jaspers. At the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Billiards World Cup not long ago, Vietnam's number 1 player lost to Dick Jaspers again, but this time in the semi-finals. At the 2025 SCTV Cup Billiards, Quyet Chien lost to his junior Bao Phuong Vinh in the championship match.
